Reply: The exemptions on the basis of securing 60% or more marks are granted under two distinct conditions covered under The Company Secretaries Regulations 1982 :-

First Condition :

A candidate shall be exempted from that or those subjects in which he secured sixty per cent or more marks, in any subsequent examination, if he/ she has appeared in the subjects of a module for which he was required to enroll and has secured sixty per cent or more marks in any subject and a minimum of twenty five per cent marks in each of the remaining subjects of the module but has failed in the module.

Second Condition :

A candidate shall be exempted in any subsequent examination if he/she has appeared in all the subjects of the module for which he was enrolled without obtaining any exemption ----- from that or those remaining subjects covered under the module in which he/ she scores sixty per cent marks taken all such subjects together but fails in one paper comprised in the module. He/ she will be declared to have passed in that module if he/she reappears in the only paper in which he had failed and gets fifty per cent marks in any subsequent examination.
